Old 690 Brewing Company

Wow! I can’t believe it’s been a month since I’ve posted. My other project has been sucking up all my extra time that I used to spend on this site. But I solemnly swear to keep bringing you awesome content about craft beer, Virginia beer and my great beer journey.

Come visit Old 690 in Hillsboro

Old 690 in Hillsboro, VA

Recently I got a chance to visit one of Northern Virginia’s newest breweries – Old 690. I’d like to take the next 1,000 words or so to tell you why you have to escape suburbia and drive down a gravel road to visit these guys.

The Beer

Before we go into Old 690’s atmosphere and the people behind it, let’s cut to the chase and get into their beer.

Announcing the Loudoun County Brewery Guide

Loudoun County Brewery Guide

Loudoun County Brewery Guide — Coming Soon!

I have an important announcement. I’m working on my first eBook – a Loudoun County Brewery Guide – and I need your help. It will be about 5-10 pages providing all the information needed at a glance for residents and visitors about the county’s 14 breweries. It will be 100% free for anyone to use and distribute. I hope the guide can help my county and it’s awesome breweries.

Here’s the list of breweries:

  • Adroit Theory Brewing Company
  • Barnhouse Brewery
  • Beltway Brewing Company
  • Corcoran Brewing Company
  • Crooked Run Brewing
  • Dirt Farm Brewing
  • Lost Rhino Brewing Company
  • Leesburg Brewing Company
  • Mad Horse Brewpub
  • Mud Hound Brewing Company
  • Old Ox Brewery
  • Old 690 Brewing Company
  • Sweetwater Tavern
  • The V – Virginia’s Eatery & Brew House
  • Vintage 50 Restaurant & Brew Lounge

This is the list of information I want to gather for each:

  • Address:
  • Telephone:
  • Hours:
  • Website:
  • Email:
  • Twitter:
  • About/History:
  • Signature Brew(s):
  • Tours:
  • Food:
  • Prices:
  • Logo/Company Picture(s):

Here’s where I need your help.  I do not have contacts at nearly half of the breweries above. I will be reaching out via email, phone calls and in person but I’m only one guy. If you have a connection at one, please connect me with them. I want to represent every brewery in the best light possible and use information that only the brewery can provide.

I also need your opinion. What else would you want to know about the breweries? Did I leave a brewery off the list? Leave a comment below or contact me privately.

Lastly, this is my first eBook. I’m pretty clueless when it comes to formatting and publishing it. Any assistance will be much appreciated if you have experience in this realm.

Again, thank you for any help you can provide. I’m hoping to get this guide out by the end of the year. Now on to studying for the Cicerone Certified Beer Server Exam…
