Beer Mission #3

Make sure to read to the end of this post for an important message about the future of Beer Missions!

Just realized this is my 100th blog post! Knocked another one off My Impossible List!

What is a Beer Mission?

A Beer Mission is something you can do when maybe beer gets a little boring. Yes, I said it! BORING! Beer will never be boring when it comes to taste. But besides the taste of beer there is something equally as important…the experience. The experience can get boring. You cannot drink the same beer(s) every night from your couch. You have to mix it up! That’s where Beer Missions come in.

Beer Missions will make you go out (sometimes you’ll stay in) and explore different aspects of the experience associated with beer.

Beer Mission #3

I’m not sure which I’m worse at – drawing or singing. I want our next Beer Mission to include one of these to push my comfort zone. Here’s your next Beer Mission:

Draw a short comic of how you will or want to enjoy your next beer.

This can be completely made up (climbing to the top of a mountain and drinking out a golden chalice for a cup) or something a little more tradition (get home from work, open fridge, drink beer on couch). It’s completely up to you but I want you to visualize how you will (or want to) drink your next beer then go do it (or imagine doing it). Hopefully drawing it out will make it a bit different experience.

Here’s the deal though – I want to see your artwork! I’ll gather them all up for the recap post. You know I love Twitter. You can Tweet your picture. Make sure to put #beermission and/or @shortonbeer in it to make sure I see it! Or if you have your own website you can write a post and leave a link to it in the comments section here or on the recap post I’ll publish next week. Lastly, if you don’t have Twitter or your own website fill out the contact form below and just say, “Hey Josh, I have a picture for Beer Mission #3!” and I’ll gladly respond with a personal email to get the picture from you.

Upon completion of your mission

To participate in Beer Mission #3 you have to do two things. First, report back your experience by sharing a picture of your drawing and what happened during your Beer Mission using the methods I listed out above.

Second, share this with someone else! Tweet it, email it, print it out and hand it someone. The more people that do Beer Missions the more fun it will be for all.

So what are you waiting for? Go break out those colored pencils!

The future of Beer Missions

I hope you all have been enjoying Beer Missions as much as I have. I think this project has huge potential. That’s why I don’t want to burn everyone out by doing this every week. So I want to get the ball rolling with five straight weeks of Beer Missions (this is number three obviously). We’ll do two more weeks then I’ll make this a monthly feature. For example, we’ll have an April Beer Mission where at the beginning of the month I’ll give you a mission to do and we can all report back by the end of the month and I’ll recap what everyone did.

If you’re anything like me you’re not going to be able to do all these future Beer Missions I have planned every weekend. That’s why I want to give us all a whole month to complete our bigger and better missions!

Look out for the recap post on Beer Mission #3 early next week. If you haven’t already, subscribe to the email list at the bottom of the page so you’re the first hear about new Beer Missions and other posts on SOB!

That’s it, guys. Good luck with Beer Mission #3 and I hope it will help you better enjoy your next beer. Check out the previous Beer Missions below if you haven’t yet!
